The MANDALA project presents a sustainable solution for the plastic packaging sector that addresses the 3 main pillars: eco-design, dual functionality and end-of-life, with the ultimate goal of developing the transition to a new sustainable multi-layer packaging focused on the food and pharmaceutical industry.

In this way, they are developing new adhesives with dual functionality

• that enable the separation of layers for recycling. This is done through the incorporation of thermo-reversible covalent bonds

• that provide barrier properties by means of nanoparticles to obtain similar characteristics to conventional multilayer packaging.
